About the Project
Industrial modern styling gives this tiny bath a big personality, where an 8-pane black metal shower door sets the theme. Additional black accents are found in the tile trim and plumbing fixtures. Rather than taking the obvious route of choosing black for the vanity, a rich brown walnut finish (surprise, it’s easy-care laminate.) adds warmth, while the channel drawers keep the look uncluttered. Pale gray 3 x 12 subway tiles are laid in a stacked pattern on the walls and shower surround. Lending movement to the modest footprint are the chevron marble floor tiles, which repeat on the shower pan in a smaller format. Modern touches abound, including an LED-framed mirror on the entire wall that widens the room and provides perfect task lighting. The tapered toilet base looks clean and takes up less visual floor space. Although the shower isn’t large, it’s not lacking in luxury features. There’s a ceiling-mounted rain-shower head, a hand-held spray, and a sleek flush linear drain. An unexpected counterpoint to the subdued monochromatic scheme is a bold abstract painting with a touch of gold on the frame.
