RitaLuisa Garcés, Senior Designer
RitaLuisa Garcés, a senior designer who joined Bilotta in 1994, has developed a strong following of architects and interior designers over the past 30 years. A graduate of Bennett College and the Paier School of Art, she has taught "Kitchen Design and Commercial Interiors" at the Parsons School of Design, and has owned her own commercial and residential interior design business.
Rita has been featured in numerous publications, such as The New York Times, House Beautiful, Beautiful Kitchens, New York Spaces, Westchester Home, and Real Kitchens. Most recently Rita was published in Traditional Home's "Before & After" February 2015 issue and again in their September 2015 issue in an article titled "Pattern Play". Her kitchens have appeared on house tours in Westchester County and New York City, including the prestigious Kips Bay tours. In 2008 Elle Décor magazine featured a kitchen she designed with Chef Daniel Boulud for the Kips Bay Decorators Show House. She has designed kitchens for celebrities Danny Glover, Mary Tyler Moore and Susie Essman as well as The New York Times film critic Janet Maslin.
In addition to designing her clients’ kitchens, Rita also headed the original design of Bilotta’s New York City showroom as well as its re-design 10 years later. One of her displays was published in New York Spaces and used as the backdrop for a television commercial featuring live cooking by Mario Batali. Rita is currently completing The Peak, a high-end residential development in Hong Kong for Wheelock Properties, Robert A.M. Stern Architects and David Collins Studio, Ltd. She is also currently working on another high-end residential development in Bronxville, NY, Villa BXV, with Gateway Development Corp.
