Daniel Popescu, Designer
Daniel Popescu has had a lifelong passion for design and a successful career working with nationally and internationally acclaimed interior design companies. Since joining Bilotta in 2007, he has built a close following of architects and designers who select him for projects from Washington, D.C., to Canada, as well as in the New York tri-state area. A native of Romania, he earned a degree in architecture from the University of Bucharest. Daniel became involved with kitchens and cabinetry upon immigrating to Ottowa, Canada in 1982, where he designed a cabinetry showroom and later opened his own firm - Jetset Design. His interest in kitchens peaked when Artcraft - then a new manufacturer on the scene - hired him to oversee the development of kitchen designs, many of which are still in use today. He later served as Chief Design Consultant for the Madison Design Group in Detroit, and Poggenpohl’s Senior Designer in Washington, D.C.
While Daniel has enjoyed countless design accomplishments during his career, his most recent notable commission is the personal kitchen for the owner of the oldest and most influential family-owned real estate firms in New York City. His ultra-contemporary Artcraft kitchen, is a perfect fit for the Penthouse in VIA 57 West, aka “The Pyramid Building” along Manhattan’s West Side Highway, designed by Danish architecture firm, Bjarke Ingels Group known as BIG. Daniel loves design – but more than design he loves interacting with his clients and creating exciting new spaces for them to love.
